The Learner

The individual learner should always be the focal point of our practice because if the learners don’t learn, our teaching is worthless. Only the learner can learn and the teacher’s responsibility is to coach and support the process. To learn who my students are in order to be able to adjust my teaching to their needs and interests, I ask them to create self-portraits that tell their stories the way they want to be known. The diversity of learners, their multiple abilities, strengths, passions and ways of being are leveraged to enrich everyone’s learning experiences.
